Faq (Frequently asked questions)

Quick answers, before you arrive

The most common questions patients ask us, answered plainly.

Leave metal at home — jewellery, watches, hairpins and anything with a magnetic strip. Tell our team beforehand if you have a pacemaker, an implant or any metal in your body, and let us know if you are pregnant or claustrophobic.

It depends on the scan. An abdominal ultrasound usually needs a few hours of fasting, while most other scans do not. We confirm exactly what is needed when you book.

Wear comfortable clothing and leave metal accessories behind. If your scan uses a contrast agent you may be asked to fast beforehand — our team will tell you when you book, and will ask about allergies and kidney conditions.

Collecting the sample takes only a few minutes. Plan for a short wait at the centre; how soon the result follows depends on the test.

Most reports are ready within 24 hours and can be downloaded online. Specialised tests can take longer — the expected time is confirmed when you book.
