What are CT guided interventions?
CT guided interventions are minimally invasive procedures that use CT generated images to guide a needle into the tissue to take out a sample for testing. All these procedures involve careful and precise placement of needle or biopsy gun, in order to avoid harm to viatl structures of the body.
What preparation is required before the procedure?
Certain procedures mandate blood tests like HIV, HCV, HBsAG, PTINR etc. These shall be informed to you while booking the appointment.
What is the time taken for the procedure?
Time taken for the procedure is 15-60 mins, depending on the procedure.
Is an appointment required for the procedure?
Yes.
When is the report expected?
The report about the procedure details as well as the tissue/ fluid sample shall be handed over within half an hour, which can then be sent for pathological examination.
